Standard Life appoints new finance chief

Standard Life has appointed current group actuarial director Evelyn Bourke as chief financial officer for the UK and Europe Life and Pensions company in the Group.

The Group has also appointed John Gill, previously managing director finance at Standard Life Assurance, to managing director customer service.

Both will report to Standard Life Assurance chief executive Trevor Matthews and will sit on the executive team.

Bourke will be responsible for the financial discipline of the life and pensions business in the UK and Gill will oversee the development and implementation of service improvements to both advisers and customers.
