Standard deviation

Anyone who has seen the film Being John Malkovich will know of the strange

goings-on that take place on the seventh-and-a-half floor, from where

inpenetrable and mysterious Standard Life will not be surprised to learn it

has a fourth-and-a-half floor.

Standard Life Investments is housed in the life office&#39s old headquarters

in Edinburgh&#39s George Street. New additions to the structure do not quite

tally with the original, meaning there are half floors. That explains

everything.
