Standard Life is planning to increase the number of external fund links for its executive pension plans and group personal pensions from 12 to 30.
It wants to extend its range in response to growing demand from IFAs for greater fund choice. It hopes to add the links, which will be offered alongside its 16 in-house funds, by the end of the year.
The charges on the external links range from 0.3 per cent to 1 per cent.
Standard is still considering if and how many of the new funds will be offered through its stakeholder offering.
It recently added the JP Morgan Fleming Life moderate fund and DWS Management balanced fund to its corporate stakeholder range alongside the Baillie Gifford managed pension fund. The stakeholder external links carry an annual charge of 0.3 per cent and are available for stakeholder sold at 0.7 per cent.
Senior technical manager John Lawson says: “We intend to add up to 30 funds from class-leading fund managers to the 16 funds we already run. We believe this would offer enough choice for the vast majority.”
