S&S launches anniversary bond

To mark its150th birthday, Stroud & Swindon Building Society is introducing a new fixed rate bond.

The Anniversary Bond has a 7.05 per cent gross annual interest rate which Stroud & Swindon claim is one of the best rates on the market.

The minimum investment for the bond is £500 and the maximum investment is £500,000.

A monthly income option is also available paying a rate of 6.83 per cent, subject to a minimum investment of £5,000.

The bond will mature in February 2002 but withdrawals before this date will be allowed subject to 90 days loss of interest on the sum withdrawn.
