Sun Life Financial of Canada is to open its IFA network and consultancy division this spring.
The Host Network service launch follows the company's ann ouncement last year that it planned to launch an IFA network. Following research with IFAs, it has decided to expand the service to offer consultancy.
The consultancy service will give IFAs bespoke business support on an ad hoc basis, including marketing, business planning and administration.
The traditional-style network will provide a training and competence programme to help in all aspects of the regulatory framework, including compliance, administration and marketing.
The fee and charging structure for the consultancy and network offerings will be announced closer to the time of launch.
Trevor Newham, previously with IFA Network and Commercial Union, joined Host as managing director in September last year and Steve Chadwick, also ex-IFA Net work, joined as compliance director this month.
Host aims to attract over 100 industry professionals by the end of the year and 300 within the next four years. It is targeting people in direct salesforces, those already in networks and employees of existing IFAs who want to strike out on their own.
Newham says: “At Host, we will offer an unrivalled support service that will allow IFAs to focus on their core selling.”
