S&P to provide share prices via mobile phones

Standard & Poor&#39s is to provide share information to wireless services company iTouch in a deal that will see customers able to access up-to-the-minute share prices from their mobile phones.

The service allows anyone from City traders to private investors immediate access in real time to share prices using iTouch&#39s recently launched Wap portal.

The portal already features global, business and sports news as well as a variety of entertainment guides, classified advertising, weather and other services. ITouch aims to provide the “best of the web” via mobile phones.

S&P&#39s European retail market services managing director Mark Hepsworth says: “Supplying our shares through a robust mobile internet portal like iTouch is an exciting development for us. We continue to see a growing demand for real-time share price information, as people become more aware of the benefits of investing in the stockmarket.”
