Society cash is in the Baggies

West Bromwich Building Society has renewed its sponsorship of Premiership new boys West Bromwich Albion Football Club.

Newly promoted WBA signed a one-year sponsorship deal with the society which includes shirt sponsorship, affinity accounts and a football in the community programme.

This is the fourth year the society&#39s name has appeared on the Baggies&#39 team shirt and it says the club&#39s move to the Barclaycard Premiership will have added PR benefits and increase its TV exposure in the UK.

West Brom will invest £52,000 over the next two years to fund team visits to local schools with the aim of encouraging more children to play football.

The affinity account, which it says was one of the first of its kind when it was set up six years ago, holds savings for 10,000 fans and paid out £137,000 to the club in April, up from £126,000 last year.

Head of PR Brian Seymour-Smith says: “We have agreed the deal to carry on the sponsorship for another year at the same level of investment as last season, even though the team are now in the Premiership. It will offer us excellent PR opportunities.”

Survey looks at the challenges facing businesses post auto-enrolment

A survey conducted by Johnson Fleming at the Pension & Benefits Show 2014 highlighted the key challenges faced within organisations post auto-enrolment. The results showed that communicating the changes and the value of them to staff, and receiving timely data from the payroll provider proved to still be the most challenging aspects of managing an auto-enrolment scheme.
