Smith & Williamson appoints Andrew Groves

Smith & Williamson Investment Management has announced the appointment of Andrew Groves as associate director – sales.

Groves joins Smith & Williamson to work on the discretionary investment intermediary market. He has 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing in the fund management business and has worked on both long-only and long/short funds. His last role was as director of investment advisory at Fortune Asset Management.

Smith & Williamson Investment Management director of marketing and sales Nick Hodgson says: “Andy’s appointment underlines our commitment to grow the funds business. He has considerable experience and will help spearhead our sales efforts to the discretionary intermediary market where he has extensive contacts.”

“With the recent arrival of Steve Woods heading up our broker desk, Melanie Sayce and Toni Craig in our funds marketing team, and now Andy to work alongside Angus Duncan in sales, we are in a position to raise our profile and start proactively promoting our funds at a time when many other fund management houses are retrenching.”
