Aifa director general Paul Smee is joining IT consultancy Practiv's board as a non-executive director.
Practiv specialises in product delivery and distribution and advises insurance companies on business solutions for IFAs, distributors and consumers.
Its biggest clients inc-lude Friends Provident, general insurer Lumley and product provider Universal Direct.
Smee will act in an adv-isory role to the board but says this is the only non-executive position he intends to take on at the moment.
Practiv chief executive Charles Shrimpton says: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the board of Practiv. As director general of Aifa, he is ideally positioned to advise the UK insurance market on the views of the IFA commun-ity and the impact of regulation on financial services.
“Paul's advice and guidance will help to ensure that Practiv continues to offer providers enhanced service capability.”
Smee says: “Practiv is very concerned with life office admin and this is one of Aifa members' primary concerns. This is a positive move all round and everyone will benefit from more co-operation in this area.”
