Sloc&#39s new UK chief outlines designs on IFA market

Sun Life of Canada&#39s new UK manager Steve Melcher says that one of his main aims is to strengthen the life office&#39s presence in the IFA market.


Melcher, who has just been appointed senior vice president and general manager at Sloc made the comments in his first press briefing this week.


Melcher is the former chief executive of Allied Dunbar and Eagle Star.


He said: &#34We plan to continue with two levels of distribution, our salesforce and IFAs. We have a market position and the next thing we want to do is to broaden that. That is key.&#34


He adds: &#34I do not want to get into product strategy but we want to build on the success we have had in the IFA market.&#34

Norwich Union launches savings tracker fund

Norwich Union has launched a Savings Tracker Account that will track the interest rates offered by up to 12 leading providers of comparable deposit accounts. Initially the account will only be available to customers wishing to reinvest all or part of the proceeds from a maturing policy or pension. The minimum investment is £1,000.
