SLOC comes to the aid of the homeless this Christmas

Sun Life of Canada will repeat its parent company&#39s act of altruism 50 years ago and donate £11,500 to 3 UK charities.

SLOC will donate the money to Shelter to fund their free national telephone advice service, Help the Aged and St Martin in the Fields social care unit.

The donation mirrors events in 1946 when SLOC&#39s Montreal-based parent company sent goodwill food parcels to UK staff to help with their post-war hardship.

SLOC director of communications Brian Morley says: &#34In the spirit of goodwill long enjoyed between Canada and the UK, we are delighted to make these donations to such worthy charities which benefit thousands of people every week.&#34
