Aegon Asset Management UK has appointed Wendy Hay as chief investment officer in charge of fund management and research.
Hay, 39, who is joining from Standard Life Investments, will be based at Aegon's head office in Edinburgh. She will lead a team of 70 investment professionals reporting to managing director Russell Hogan. Hogan continues as CIO until Hay joins later this year.
Aegon says Hay will be expected to play a key part in expanding Aegon Asset Management's business dom-estically and internationally.
Hay has 19 years investment experience. She has spent 15 years at SLI and held the position of head of global equities with responsibility for £50bn of equities under management since March 2000.
Aegon managing director Russell Hogan says: “To recruit someone of Wendy's calibre is testament to Aegon Asset Management's growing reputation and underlines our plans for further growth. Already since 1999, we have increased assets under management from £18bn to £34bn.”
