SLI confirms launch of Gars bond fund

Standard Life Investments has confirmed it is launching a new version of its hugely popular global absolute return strategies fund which will invest in the global bond markets.

The absolute return global bond strategies fund will aim to deliver an absolute return over any 12 month period.

Over three year periods, it will target an annual return of 2.5 percentage points greater than cash.

The fund will be housed in Luxembourg and will be denominated in sterling.

Standard Life Investments has already gathered £7.3 billion for its Gars fund, which is run by its multi-asset team.

The ARGBS fund will invest in ideas from the multi-asset team along with tactical ideas from Standard Life Investments’ fixed income unit.

The team behind the fund will be Euan Munro, the head of multi-asset investing and global fixed income, David Millar, an investment director for multi-asset management, and Ian

Pizer and Roger Sadewsky, both investment directors for fixed income.
