SLI appoints analyst to MyFolio fund range

Standard Life Investments has hired Pimco portfolio analyst Rickey Thevakarrunai for its fund solutions team as fund analyst.

Thevakarrunai will join the team responsible for identifying and monitoring funds that may form part of the MyFolio fund range. Prior to working at Pimco, Thevakarrunai was an analyst at Street Street Global Advisors

He will report to head of fund of funds management Bambos Hambi.

Hambi says: “Given the structure of our multi-manager funds and particularly MyFolio, it is vital that we have the right people in place to research over 6,000 authorised funds available in the investment universe.

“Rickey will compliment the skill-set of the current research team with a focus on fixed income analysis, ensuring that we are provided with the very best in fund research and analysis.”

Earlier this month, the SLI MyFolio range passed the £2bn mark. The risk-based range comprises 25 funds, including actively managed, low-cost and multi-manager branded solutions.

CandidMoney.com founder Justin Modray says: “You need large teams to run a range of funds like this which cover numerous areas of the market.”
