Skipton BS to offer 95% LTV mortgage through Connells

Skipton Building Society is offering a 95 per cent loan-to-value mortgage exclusively through subsidiary Connells.

The product is a two-year fixed rate at 6.49 per cent. The pair are also offering borrowers a two-year fixed rate at 90 per cent LTV for 5.89 per cent.

The products are available exclusively through Connells’ mortgage consultants.

For both products there is a £195 application fee. For the 95 per cent LTV mortgage there is no completion fee and there is a £995 completion fee for the 90 per cent LTV product.

Connells Group mortgage director Ross Bowen says: “Right now, I can’t think of anything more important than helping our customers secure their first home. First-time buyers are the lifeblood of the housing market and – with purchase transactions still languishing at less than half the level seen in 2007 – I hope that we will see more initiatives like this aimed at helping to get more people into homeownership.”
