Skipton appoints finance director

Skipton has appointed Tom Wood as group finance director with effect from September 7, subject to FSA approval.

This follows the move of former group finance director Richard Twigg to the position of managing director, with responsibility for the group’s mortgages and savings division.

Wood has spent the majority of his career at Barclays, but was also group finance director at Derbyshire until it merged with Nationwide. He is currently working on an interim basis at Northern Rock.

Skipton group chief executive David Cutter says: “I’m delighted that Tom Wood will be joining the board of Skipton. He is highly regarded and has a wealth of experience.”

Wood says: “I’m pleased to be joining this unique building society with its well diversified model. They have the values and strength of a traditional building society along with the drive and ambition to succeed as a modern mutual.”
