Skandia to launch five US funds

Skandia is expanding its fund range with the launch of five US funds in the UK.

The US all cap value, US capital growth, US large cap value, US value and US large cap growth funds are due to launch on October 22, pending FSA approval. They will be available initially for direct investment and via Royal Skandia’s offshore bond for investors in the UK and overseas.

Skandia will evaluate the demand from advisers before deciding whether to add them to its Selestia Investment Solutions platform and life and pensions fund range.

The five funds are operated by Skandia Global Funds, Skandia Investment Group’s Dublin-based fund company and have previously been available only through Skandia’s European, Far East and Latin American businesses.

SIG chief investment officer James Millard says: “Although the US accounts for such a significant part of the global economy there are still very few high calibre managers available for investors in the UK. The managers of these five funds are from the cream of US fund management industry making these funds a great addition for investors looking to access the US market.”
