Skandia reshuffles best ideas fund range

Skandia Investment Group has made changes to its global best ideas and UK best ideas funds.

New Star’s Stephen Whittaker has been replaced in both funds by Tim Steer. Steer is a manager within Skandia’s long short fund UK strategic best ideas fund.

Aegon Asset Management’s Audrey Ryan has been awarded a mandate within UK Best Ideas, while Schroders’ Richard Buxton, who oversees part of UK best ideas fund, will now help run UK equities of the global best ideas fund.

Both Buxton and Ryan replace mandates previously co-managed by Ashley Willing and Simon King at Gartmore.

Gartmore’s Ben Wallace will take sole leadership of Gartmore’s mandate within Skandia’s UK strategic best ideas fund.

Skandia Investment Group chief investment officer James Millard says: “These changes are a result of our ongoing analysis of the managers within our best ideas range. It is important that we continually monitor their management of our mandates and resulting performance – making bold changes when necessary. We believe we have added some exciting fund mangers to the funds which will add significant value to these portfolios.”
