Skandia Investment Group chief executive quits

Skandia Investment Group chief executive Nils Bolmstrand has quit the group for “personal reasons” just over a year after taking over from Jamie Macleod.

The group says Bolmstrand is to return to the Skandia Nordic business, to be based in Stockholm and “travel less”. Marc Bulstrode, currently chief operating officer at SIG, is taking over as acting chief executive until a permanent replacement is appointed.

A statement says: “Nils’ legacy at SIG is extremely positive and he leaves having established a very full and well advanced programme of activity which will to take the business forward in 2011.”

Bolmstrand says: “This has been a difficult decision but ultimately the right one. SIG is a great business that has a unique ability to be able to access some of the best fund managers in the world in order to build world class investment solutions for financial advisers and their customers. I will miss being at the heart of the business although I look forward to continuing to work with many of the team in my new role.”  

He took over In September 2009 from Macleod.
