Skandia head of investment research departs

Skandia Investment Group head of investment research Adam Smears has left the business to pursue an opportunity outside the business.

The departure was confirmed as Old Mutual Global Investors, which will encompass the Skandia Investment Group and Old Mutual Asset Managers, announced Anthony Gillman had been appointed as sole portfolio manager of the Skandia Strategic Bond fund.

Smears had previously managed the Skandia UK Fixed Interest Blend and Skandia Global Fixed Interest Blend funds until their close and joined the Skandia investment research team in 2003, latterly taking overall responsibility for investment research and fixed interest portfolio managment, according to FE Analytics.
