Skandia expands investment teams

Skandia Investment Group has made three senior appointments to its multi manager, open and guided architecture operations.

Andrew Freeley joins SIG’s executive committee as director of business change from Ernst & Young.

Paul Deacon joins as head of fund group relationships for the open architecture fund platforms worldwide for Skandia UK and Skandia International. Deacon previously worked for Friends Provident as an investment proposition manager.
Helen Woodland joins SIG’s risk and compliance team as head of compliance. Woodland previously worked at New Star Asset Management where she was deputy head of compliance for all retail operations.

The recent appointments bring the number of new hires at SIG to more than 30 over the past year.

Skandia Investment Group chief executive Jamie MacLeod says: “To succeed in the global multimanager investment management industry companies need innovation, scale, strong risk and compliance controls, first class investment research capabilities and above all quality people. SIG is a growing business, which has an exciting programme of innovative fund solutions to offer investors throughout the world. I am therefore delighted we are attracting top quality people who share our vision and enthusiasm for the future.”
