Skandia does the double in SimplyBiz awards

Skandia has been named provider of the year and best overall service provider at the SimplyBiz 2008 Partnership Awards.

Standard Life came sec- ond in the provider of the year category, with Norwich Union third.

Providers were judged across 14 categories. Legal & General won the award for best protection company, Standard Life was named the best pension company and M&G picked up the prize as best fund manager.

The prize for the best new entrant to the SimplyBiz community went to JP Morgan while Just Retirement was named partner of the year.

The awards were presented last week at Huddersfield’s Galpharm Stadium, home to Huddersfield Town FC and the Huddersfield Giants rugby team.

SimplyBiz managing director Ian Thorneycroft says: “Partners of the SimplyBiz community offer us and our member firms a lot of support and we see this annual event as a worthwhile way of recognising exceptional service, whether that is consistent or improved. “The results of the ceremony are voted for by our membership and therefore we are sure these awards mean a great deal to those who receive them.”

Skandia head of platform marketing Peter Jordan says: “Skandia prides itself on the high levels of service and technical support we provide to advisers. It is great that we have won this award but we will continue to look for ways to enhance service further.”
