A total 280,000 policies worth around £5bn in funds under management have been migrated onto the SIS platform.
The migration started at the beginning of 2009 with key accounts being migrated where there was high demand for financial advisers. The automated migration of clients in bulk started in July.
Skandia chief operating officer John Tomlins says: “This is by far the largest number of policies that have ever been migrated from one platform to another.
“Our priority was to ensure we had a streamlined and efficient process in place before we migrated policies en masse so that we were confident the SIS platform could handle the increased volume.”
Tomlins says Skandia will now focus on the ongoing development of the SIS platform in 2010.
