Skandia brings multi-manager approach to Dublin-based fund

Skandia is launching a Dublin-based multi-manager investment fund offering the opportunity to invest in a number of sub-funds run by different managers.

The Multi-link global fund will take the form of an investment company with variable capital, which is the Irish equivalent of an Oeic.

Skandia is initially offering 10 funds, which are managed by investment groups chosen as the best in their market. Invesco will be responsible for the European equity sub-fund, while Fleming Asset Management has been chosen for Japanese equities, Fidelity for Pacific equities and Merrill Lynch for the US.

Funds will also be managed by Wellington Management, Alliance Capital, China Securities and Skandia Asset Management.

SEI Investments Global Fund Services will act as overall administrator for Multi-Link.

Skandia Life managing director Alan Wilson says: “Skandia is continuously strengthening its presence in the global fund market as part of its endeavour to develop its range of fund products.

“In the first couple of months after launch, we expect to see funds under management for Multi-Link grow to $1bn (£0.7bn).”
