Skandia axes Selestia branding

Skandia is axing the Selestia brand and developing its platform into a full wealth management wrap under the name Skandia Investment Solutions.

The company says it is opting for the new unified branding following feedback from advisers and it is also developing a white label version of platform that advisers can use with their own branding.

No specific timeframe has been given for the name change and other developments to the platform.

Skandia Investment Solutions will sit alongside the Skandia Life platform which continues to offer advisers open architecture life and pensions products.

The two platforms combined will have £40bn of funds under management, which Skandia says will give it a substantial competitive advantage over other platforms.

Skandia’s combined proposition will offer two different charging and remuneration options.

 Nick Poyntz-Wright says: “Investment platforms will play an increasingly important role within the industry and we are committed to developing our proposition in line with the needs of financial advisers and their clients.

“Aligning the brands of all our UK businesses is an important step in delivering a simple, integrated proposition for advisers and our decision to white label our platform


Positive response

I remember real problems such as fuel prices increasing by 300 per cent overnight in the early Seventies, the three-day week, the Winter of Discontent, the very real and more serious terrorist threat of the IRA, negative equity, house price falls of 40 per cent, etc, etc. By comparison, today’s “problems” are very minor.
