Skandia announces new fund manager line-up

Skandia Investment Management Limited has announced the full manager line up for its new UK strategic best ideas fund, to be launched on September 19.

The fund managers include Richard Plackett and Mark Lyttleton from BlackRock Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, George Luckraft from AXA Framlington, Artemis’ John Wood, Colin McLean from SVM, Gartmore’s Ashley Willing and Simon King, Andrew Kelly and David Stevenson from Resolution Cartesian, Paul Findley from Threadneedle, Cazenove’s Tim Russell and Charles Tritton from New Star.

SIML says the UK strategic best ideas fund is structured as an open-ended investment company and will sit in the IMA UK All Companies sector.

Skandia says each manager has the flexibility to profit from both rising shares and falling shares, maximising the opportunities from which managers can potentially make money.

SIML chief executive Jamie MacLeod says: “Our best ideas concept has taken MultiManager investing to a new level and has been extremely well received by advisers and their clients. The feedback we have received for our global and UK best ideas funds has been very positive and demand for another investment solution following the same format is high. UK strategic best ideas is another unique fund which we believe offers advisers and their clients a great investment opportunity.”
