Skandia adds new Fulcrum fund to spectrum range

Skandia is adding the Fulcrum alternative beta plus fund as an underlying asset to its spectrum funds.

The Fab+ fund expands the global specialist equities asset class alongside the global best ideas fund and will invest in currency, equity, commodity and fixed income markets. The global specialist equities asset class is included in all six spectrum funds ranging from 2.6 per cent of the spectrum 3 fund up to 6.6 per cent of the spectrum 8 fund.

The recently launched spectrum funds are the only risk-targeted funds in the market to invest in both retail funds and segregated mandates.

Fulcrum asset management chairman Gavyn Davies says: “Fab+ gives investors the opportunity to access alternative investment risk in a single fund. For private investors, the fund provides one of the first opportunities to invest in hedge fund-like assets which, as markets have demonstrated over the last year, bring important diversification benefits to portfolios.”
