SJP rings in board reshuffle as chair steps down

Business-Handshake-Finance-Deal-700.jpgSt James’s Place chair Sarah Bates has stepped down from her role today with current risk committee chair Iain Cornish taking over her position.

SJP announced the departure in May, saying Bates will retire after 14 years with the firm and four in the position of chair.

Cornish’s vacancy will now be filled by executive Roger Yates.

SJP has also confirmed managing director of investments David Lamb will leave the board in early 2019.

SJP shuns new CII exam in favour of in-house programmes

Last month, Lamb and partnership managing director Ian Gascoigne increased the shares they hold in SJP by buying £8,996 worth of shares.

Lamb is expected to continue on the SJP investment committee on a part-time basis and has spent more than 30 years with the firm.
