SJP appoints Iain Cornish in non-exec role

St. James’s Place has appointed Iain Cornish as an independent non-executive director.

Cornish (pictured) is currently Yorkshire Building Society chief executive having joined the firm in 1992 but is to step down from the role at the end of the year.

Cornish also served as a member of the FSA Practitioner Panel from 2007 to 2011 and became chairman in 2009.

Current SJP non-executive directors Michael Sorkin and Derek Netherton will retire from the board with effect from 31 December, 2011.

SJP chairman Mike Wilson says: “I am delighted to welcome Iain to the board of SJP as an independent non-executive director. Iain brings with him considerable board and senior management experience.”
