Synaptic Systems has been appointed by Sifa – the support group for IFAs working with the professions.
Sifa will recommend its Clarity online research tool to its 130 member firms with immediate effect.
Sifa will also use Synaptic’s filtering functionality as the basis for creating best advice research panels which can be adjusted by its member firms to meet the needs of individual clients.
The decision by Sifa to back Clarity followed a review of other research tools available including Defaqto and Old Broad Street Research.
Synaptic managing director Selwyn Herring says: “We are delighted to have secured this partnership with Sifa. In choosing Clarity to recommend to their members it gives Synaptic a valued stamp of approval. Synaptic’s vision of delivering truly independent financial information to IFAs is clearly shared by Sifa and its members will now be fully equipped to offer the best suited and most up to date advice to their clients.”
Sifa managing director Ian Muirhead says: “Member firms have commented that there are occasions when their advisers may need the flexibility to go off-panel to meet particular client situations and that the rigidity of standard panels makes it difficult to provide the necessary audit trail. They have therefore asked whether our panels could be integrated with the main source data so as to enable firms’ administrators to alter the filters to produce their own bespoke panels.”
