Sheila Nicoll replaces Dan Waters as FSA head of retail policy

Former IMA deputy chief executive Sheila Nicoll will replace Dan Waters as FSA head of retail policy and conduct.

Nicoll left the IMA in September 2007 to join the FSA as director of the retail firms division.

She will retain her current responsibilities until a replacement is found.

Before joining the IMA Nicoll worked at the London Stock Exchange and the Securities Association.

She says: “I look forward to the move to retail policy and to tackling the many regulatory challenges in that area.”

Waters is taking up a new post as director of the FSA’s conduct risk division, as revealed in Money Marketing this week.

  1. IFA For 41 Years this woman has no idea 20th November 2009 at 10:50 am

She is a waste of time, she lives in a different world…..Mars????? she has no idea about client needs or what IFAS do on a day to day basis.

They all make me sick, how can they give them selves a bonus what have they done to financial services….F****D the banks who are the biggest cons in the world the pain they caused to every one is just unbelievable, has any one been takentotask by the FSA…………no……..why??because all the big shots at FSA are X Bankers..what a joke.

  2. Her comments made in a speech this week were ill judged and demonstrated an ‘ivory tower’ attitude totally out of touch with the market place and the future implications for the provision of independent financial advice should RDR proposals continue in their current form. Not sure what IFA’s have done to deserve comments such as these.
