Shaw thing

The Diary has been waging a campaign against Express hackette Esther Shaw for the past few weeks after she took the Headline Money trade team award home for safekeeping while the editor went on drinking on the night of the awards.

We print the latest email from Esther which details how MM&#39s news editor now joins the editor in the hall of shame. “Judging by the messages in my inbox, I have been overwhelmed with support for my actions regarding your dear award. While I am feeling an inconseq-uential amount of guilt at the moment, my attempts to return it on Monday evening were somewhat thwarted by the lack of enthusiasm from the member of staff it was offered to… “I can&#39t be ars*d to carry it around” were, I think, the choice words used on the afore-mentioned occasion. As a result, I am contemplating acting on the best advice I have heard so far which is to auction it on ebay.”

Er, Esther, please give it back. The Diary likes you really and might even vote for you for best newish-comer next year. As for auctioneering it on ebay, surely no rival trade paper could be so desperate to win the award that they would fork out cash for it?
