Sesame appoints John Cowan as non-exec director

Sesame has appointed former Prudential group sales director John Cowan as an independent non-executive director.

Cowan previously worked for Prudential, National Australian Bank and Scottish Amicable, and advised at Positive Solutions, Paymentshield and Unisure.

Cowan says: “I am excited to be joining a successful team and a strong brand that has been at the forefront of the industry drive towards higher professional standards.

“At a time when the profession is once again on the cusp of profound change I am looking forward to working with Sesame and our adviser customers as we face these challenges together.”

Sesame executive chairman Ivan Martin says: “John’s extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable to us as we plan for the future and the strategic challenges emerging from the new environment being created by the FSA’s retail distribution review.”
