Selestia selector picks out trusts

Fund supermarket Selestia says it is making trusts easier and more accessible for IFAs with a trust service offering a range of solutions to estate and tax planning problems.

The company has added a trust selector to its online investment service, offering availability to trusts for collective investments to IFAs&#39 clients.

The service features access to four draft trust deeds – absolute trust, accumulation and maintenance trust, flexible trust and a will trust.

Absolute is most suitable for those looking to leave a gift for children and grandchildren, Accumulation and maintenance also allows gifts but the settlor retains control until the beneficiaries reach maturity.

Flexible is for beneficiaries other than children or grandchildren and the will trust is suitable for married couples who want to make sure the survivor has access to funds.

IFAs who have already signed terms of business with Selestia will have free access to the service.

Marketing director Bill Vasilieff says: “People are putting off using trusts because they think it will be costly and time-consuming and therefore only worthwhile for the very, very rich. But even relatively modest sums could benefit from being put in trust.”

“The addition of the trust selector means that IFAs can offer their clients an additional service at no cost to themselves and the investor can have free access to the draft documents, whether they are lords or window cleaners.”
