Selestia founder joins AJ Bell as non-exec director

Selestia co-founder John Tomlins has joined the board of AJ Bell as a non-executive director and chair of its audit and risk committee.

Tomlins co-founded Selestia in 2001, and went on to become chief operating officer and chief executive of Skandia’s shared services division when it acquired Selestia in 2006. He remained with Skandia until his retirement in 2010.

He also previously worked for IBM, Prudential and Britannic.

AJ Bell chairman Les Platts says: “John has extensive and highly relevant IT and financial services experience which we believe will be of significant benefit to the board in terms of overall strategic thinking and engagement with the executive directors.

“We look forward to his contribution to the board.”
