SEI brings in US chief as it bids to expand

Multi-manager SEI Investments has drafted its US communications director Chris Hylen to the UK in a bid to boost outsource partnerships with selected IFA companies.

As head of wealth solutions, Hylen, who worked for SEI&#39s US adviser network, will identify potential adviser partners in addition to his role as a builder of business solutions for new and existing IFAs.

Hylen was instrumental in developing a broader US outsource offering and will work with the UK&#39s business development team, which is seeking to expand its number of IFA partners from 42 to 75 by the end of the year.

He is also expected to bring to bear his experience of running an adviser business, which he did for five years before joining SEI in 1998.

At SEI&#39s US base near Philadelphia, one of Hylen&#39s main roles was to lead sales training and technical sales support as well as helping with strategic planning and business relationships.

SEI UK director Teresa Smith says: “Chris&#39s appointment will give us a powerful combination of knowledge and experience from the UK market and ideas and experience from the US.”
