Sectors battling to attract marketing professionals

The financial and professional services sector are locked in a cash battle to attract the best marketing professionals, says research by recruitment company TMP Worldwide.

TMP gathered information from candidates, clients, consultants and its job database. It splits the data into three categories of the highest, lowest and average salaries.

A marketing director in a financial services company could expect a maximum salary of £113,444, slightly higher than £112,555 in professional services.

But a marketing director&#39s average salary is £82,888 in financial services compared with £83,333 in professional services.

Both these fall below the average salary for a marketing director in the UK across all sectors, which is £101,259.

TMP says the best-paying location is London where a marketing director can get a salary of up to £120,000.
