Searching for the engine to power IFAs&#39 websites

We were delighted to read the letter (Money Marketing, April 12) in which the anonymous author delivered yet more praise for our IFA Window website service and also made some good points about the need for IFAs to actively promote their sites if they are to get maximum value.

We believe our service is the biggest and most popular service on the market, with over 2,100 websites representing IFA firms from all the major networks as well as independents and our support for their marketing is growing rapidly.

Unfortunately, however, the letter did include some information which is factually incorrect which I would like to point out to your readers.

I can confirm that we have appointed a professional internet marketing consultancy who will be doing the search engine optimisation for which links the consumer to all our IFA websites free of charge.

But, contrary to the letter, we are also providing individual search engine optimisation services to all users of our Formula 1 IFA window service, which is one of the paid-for services and includes all the high-level functionality.

This service takes the domain name of the IFA&#39s individual site and the same professional company we use for the main portal marketing activity then sends the IFA&#39s site details to the major search engines.

Clearly, there is no precise science in search engine optimisation and no guarantees can be made but we are investing money on behalf of our users with a company which is very well qualified in this area.

On a further issue raised in the letter, I can confidently state that DBS Financial Management, a sister company of AssureWeb, does not mandate the use of any particular software, supplier or website building service and all DBS members are free to choose.
