Scottish Widows cuts with-profits payouts

Scottish Widows is cutting payouts on with-profits by 5 per cent from today. It says the interim bonus declaration is a result of falling stockmarkets and it has taken the action to protect policies that will mature in the future.

It says despite the cuts policyholders are being insulated from the full effects of the falls in equity markets. The cuts only affects terminal bonus – annual bonus remains unchanged.
