Scottish Widows appoints Fraser as head of investment services

Scottish Widows has appointed Alasdair Fraser to the newly created role of head of investment services.

Fraser will oversee the investment services team which defines and develops the investment content of all Scottish Widows customer offers across its product range.

Fraser joins after eight years at AEGON UK where he was fund development manager. He was responsible for designing and helping to implement AEGON’s fund supermarket.

Scottish Widows managing director of marketing and distribution Nathan Moss says: “Alasdair brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in the investment sector.”

“This new role is key in the strategic development of our investment offering as well as contributing to the strategic and operational developments of the savings and investments function as a whole.”

FSA censures GDT over withdrawal

The FSA has publicly censured GD Tancred Financial Services for not clearly explaining and documenting the risks of income withdrawal to customers with small pension pots. GDT is writing to all income withdrawal customers to make them aware of the risks.
