Scottish Provident International reports 12 per cent increase in new business

Scottish Provident International has reported a 12 per cent increase in new business for the six months to June 30.


The offshore life office says equivalent premium income rose £2.3m to £20.9m from £18.6m the previous year.


New single premiums leapt 29 per cent to £90.7m from £70.4m over the same period of 1998.


But it was not all good news for the life office, annual premium business was down 1 per cent over the same period to £10.92m from £10.98m the previous year.
