ScotFriendly pitching itself as a professional

Scottish Friendly is embark-ing on a direct marketing drive to boost its presence in the IFA sector.

The Glasgow-based fri-endly society is sending out the mailshot to 7,500 IFAs.

For the first time, it will also be advertising in the trade press. The ads have a golfing theme, comparing the professional nature of the game with Scottish Friendly&#39s professional nature.

IFAs can expect to receive the mailshot in the next week. It consists of a box with the slogan “A few friendly surprises” and a golf ball inside.

There is also a brochure detailing ScotFriendly&#39s IFA services and giving product information. It also looks at the company&#39s strong performance in fund management.

IFAs can enter a free prize draw to win a break for two at St Andrew&#39s golf course. The prize includes accommodation in the exclusive Old Course Hotel.

ScotFriendly&#39s sales through IFAs have grown by 9 per cent in the past year. The mutual has launched an IFA centre on its website which gives product information and allows users to contact the IFA team direct.

Marketing manager Harry Gibb says: “This mailer provides IFAs with information and statistics on ScotFriendly in a manner that is both memorable and fun.”
