ScotEq goal to be top in employee benefits

Scottish Equitable wants to become the major player in the employee

benefits sector within three years.

The company, currently the third-biggest player in the sector, will

rebrand Guardian Employee Benefits as Scottish Equitable Employee Benefits.

ScotEq says it can offer employers a complete benefits package to go hand

in hand with its group personal pen sion business and the stakeholder

market.

The group plans to develop Guardian&#39s existing corporate benefits

cafeteria-style packages. It believes it can achieve this by offering IFAs

the right balance between underwrit ing, claims&#39 management and IFA

service.

Seeb managing director Peter Dornan says: “This represents an important

extension to our product range.

“We have a tremendous amount of skills and experience within the employee

benefits team and this will be a major advantage for us.

“We are confident that building on Guardian&#39s achievements and our success

in the group pensions market we will quickly become a key player in the

corporate protection market.”
