Scor Global Life UK appoints new chief underwriter

Scor Global Life UK has appointed Phil Cleverly as its chief underwriter.

Cleverly, who joins the firm from Swiss Re, replaces Graham Austin who is retiring from Scor at the end of the year.

Scor Global Life UK head of customer proposition says: “Phil will lead the future development of our underwriting services which form a key element of our overall partnership and service based client proposition. I know Phil will make an excellent addition to our team and to the high quality service we aspire to deliver.”

Readers of my column will know how keen I have been on corporate bonds over the last year or more. I admit I was little bit too early with some of my recommendations, but the rally we have seen since March in corporate bonds should mean that most people are now in profit. Transfer times cut by three weeks in a year

The average open market option transfer time using the Association of British Insurers’ Options programme increased by 44 per cent to 11 days in the second quarter of this year with some providers taking nearly four weeks to process transfers.
