Schwab clients given the tools for US trading

Stockbroker Charles Schwab UK is offering what it describes as two revolutionary products providing investors with research and analysis to enable them to make informed investment decisions.

The products are designed for UK investors who want exposure to the US in their portfolios but need additional information about the market.

Schwab Equity Ratings rates stocks on predetermined measures including risk level, valuation and momentum of the company. The service does not provide advice but will feature stocks with a rating between A and F, where those given an A rating are expected to strongly outperform those with lower ratings.

Schwab describes its second product, Street Smart Pro, as a “cutting-edge integrated trading cockpit” providing real-time market information and analysis to help investors monitor market movements.

Both products are already available to US investors, where the company says take-up has been positive.

They are available at no extra charge to any Charles Schwab customers with at least £5,500 to invest.

UK chief executive Gertjan Scholts says: “Sophisticated investors realise that access to the US market, which continues to be the biggest in the world, is important to ensure diversification and potential growth in their portfolios.

“By using Schwab Equity Ratings and Street Smart Pro, they get access to the market and a wide range of proprietary information on which to base investment decisions.”
