Schroders UK equity co-manager Ed Meier has quit to join Richard Buxton and Errol Francis at Old Mutual Global Investors.
Last week, Buxton resigned as head of UK equities at Schroders after 12 years at the asset manager.
On the same day, Francis, co-manager of the £648m Schroder UK Equity fund, also quit to join OMGI.
Meier joined Schroders in January 2006. Prior to joining Schroders, he worked as a fund manager for BAE Systems Pension fund.
He will join OMGI in mid-June and will report to Buxton.
An OMGI spokeswoman says: “Old Mutual Global Investors aims to become one of the leading asset management companies in the UK and the appointment of Richard Buxton, Errol Francis and Ed Meier will significantly enhance the market leading range of UK Equity funds it offers to investors and intermediaries.”
Schroders declined to comment.
Chelsea Financial Services managing director Darius McDermott says: “It is a big worry to lose another member of the team.”
