Schroders offers US SMID cap fund to UK retail investors

Schroders is offering its US small and mid cap fund for UK retail investors, previously known as the Schroder North American fund, now approved for changing its investment aim.

The Schroder SMID cap fund invests in US small and mid cap companies with a capitalisation of between £500.25m and £3.83bn.

The Schroder US smaller companies fund invests in companies with a capitalisation of between £2.74m and £1.1bn.

Jenny Jones will manage the SMID cap fund out of New York, in addition to the Schroder US smaller companies fund.

It will keep the research based, bottom-up stock picking approach as the successful small cap fund.

Schroders retail business managing director Robin Stoakley says: “This product offers UK investors greater access to one of the industry’s top fund managers and increased exposure to a segment of the US equity market that is typically under-represented in their portfolios.”
