Schroders is to launch the third fund in its income maximiser range, a global property fund seeking a 7 per cent annual yield.
The Schroder global property income maximiser fund, available from February, will invest in higher-yielding global property securities and real estate investment trusts.
As with the two existing inc-ome maximiser funds, income and Asian income, the global property fund will adopt a covered call option overlay to enhance its yield.
Head of structured fund management Thomas See will co-manage the fund alongside Jim Rehlaender, manager of the Schroder global property securities fund, and US-based global securities manager Al Otero.
Rehlaender and Otero will be responsible for stock selection and See will be in charge of the covered call strategy.
The new fund will follow a similar stock selection strategy to the existing global property securities fund and there is likely to be a significant degree of commonality in stock positions.
