Schroder's UK dynamic growth fund is aimed at investors who are looking to expand their portfolio by investing in promising companies in the UK.
UK dynamic growth will track the Salomon Smith Barney broad market UK growth index. It will invest in companies that show good growth potential across a wide range of sectors. This will include companies such as HSBC, Reuters, Pearson, Smithkline Beecham and Vodaphone.
The UK economy is still stable, with no sign of a possible downturn, although there might be short-term affects caused by Chancellor Gordon Brown's pre-budget statement on Wednesday November 8. This may not address fuel protesters demands for a drop in fuel tax and may result in another fuel crisis and problems for the economy.
Also, if the Government decides to go to the country in 2001, this too may add uncertainty to UK markets. The fact that UK dynamic growth will invest over a range of sectors should provide stability though.
According to Standard & Poor's the Schroder UK equity fund is ranked 73 out of 235 funds, based on £1,000 invested on a bid-to-bid basis with net income reinvested over three years to October 30, 2000.
