Sanlam poaches from Aberdeen Standard for new distribution head

Sanlam UK has brought in Richard Pursglove as its new distribution head to lead the business’s sales and marketing strategy.

Pursglove most recently worked at Aberdeen Standard Investments to support the integration of the global distribution team during the merger of Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life.

Pursglove started his career as an IFA and was previously Cazenove Capital sales director, Gartmore Investment Management distribution lead, and has also worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Artemis Investment Management.

Which income funds have joined Sanlam’s ‘white list’?

Sanlam UK chief executive Jonathan Polin says: “Richard is charged with using his significant skill-set to take [our] products and services to market, helping our clients meet their long-term financial goals as well as supporting our significant commercial ambitions.”

Other recent high-profile people moves coming from Standard Life Aberdeen include former Standard Life UK and Europe chief risk officer John Gill joining the Old Mutual Wealth Platform board, and former Standard Life UK chief executive Paul Matthews joining Quilter advice network Intrinsic as a non-executive director.
